Inspirational Workplaces was founded in Australia in 1986 with the deep desire to help businesses do ‘the people stuff’ better.  When we started, assessment, leadership, and culture were only just slowing coming onto many organisations’ radars. Thirty years later, we are now a highly experienced firm of Business Psychologists providing leadership solutions to globally recognised companies around the world.

We differentiate ourselves by only employing Psychologists to help select and develop our clients’ people. We believe that Psychologists uniquely have the depth and breadth of training to provide developmental experiences for people that are evidenced-based, genuinely transformational, and commercially astute.

Iain is a registered Psychologist with 20 years’ experience in the fields of executive assessment, executive coaching, and leadership and culture development. He travels regularly throughout Asia to help select and develop our clients’ key leaders as their businesses expand in the region. Regular assignments in the UK and the USA have provided Iain with a truly global perspective of business and the issues that leaders face within organisations that compete in the international arena. As a coach, Iain works mostly with C-suite, senior executives, and entrepreneurs to develop a range of intra- and interpersonal skills including: emotional resilience, executive presence, influencing, and leadership skills. Iain is a guest lecturer in the assessment of workplace competency, intelligence, and personality at the University of Sydney. He is also a board-accredited Supervisor of provisionally registered Psychologists in Australia.

Helen is one of Australia’s most experienced organisational psychologists with over 31 years of experience in executive assessment and in leadership and culture development. She has worked closely with CEOs, executives and senior managers to develop a range of leadership and interpersonal skills including. Through her long-term consulting relationships with many Australian and international organisations of all sizes and industries, Helen has developed a comprehensive understanding of organisational systems and the roles people play in them.  Helen is also a board-accredited Supervisor of provisionally registered Psychologists in Australia.

Since 1986 we have provided business psychology and consulting services to organisations both large and small from nearly every imaginable industry sector. We have worked with many of our clients for more than 15 years and with one multi-national organisation for more than 30 years.

Our larger clients are blue-chip firms from the Finance, Insurance, Business Services, Manufacturing, Construction, Pharmaceutical, and Government sectors. We therefore have substantial exposure to the array of issues facing organisations that compete on a national, multi-national, or global basis.

Our smaller clients range in size from 5 – 500 people and include entrepreneurial start-ups and venture capital firms. We understand the people issues in small to medium organisations and we offer flexible and cost-effective solutions to meet them.

The Australian Psychological Society’s code of ethics for advertising psychological services prevents us from providing client testimonials. Also, we prefer to preserve our clients’ confidentiality online.  We do have several non-executive board members, c-suite, senior executives, and HR executives who are glad to provide a reference for us and our work upon request.

We develop and support our people to help them build a meaningful, thoughtful, and sustainable psychological practice.

We are happy to talk to experienced as well as emerging Psychologists who are bright, person-centred, and commercial in their outlook.  We value the ability to be grounded by evidence while being highly responsive to people’s needs. Our work draws predominantly on the fields of individual differences, coaching, counselling psychology, leadership research, and organisation development.

Our Senior Psychologists are approved by the Psychology Board of Australia as supervisors of provisionally registered Psychologists. We have established a robust and popular internship program at our head office in Sydney. We have relationships with the Organisational Psychology schools at Macquarie University and the University of New South Wales; please contact your school liaison officer for more information. Interns from other prestigious institutions such as the Copenhagen Business School have attended our program.
